Bookpage An on-line version of the periodical focusing on new book reviews and authors, with an easily searched archive.

Fresh Fiction Publishes a daily recap of author appearances and publicity tours on nationally broadcast television and radio programs.

Genrefluent A collection of brief, lively reviews, written by Diana Herald. Formerly called Genreflecting.

 January Magazine An online periodical providing interview, reviews and  contests. In addition to fiction, the site features cookbooks, children’s books and much more.

NPR Books Complete listing of the books reviewed on NPR, including transcripts of author interview that have been aired.

Overbooked A website for ravenous readers which specialized in literary and genre fiction information. Includes booklists of titles which received starred reviews, as well as hotlists of U.S. fiction releases.

Webrary A collection of webites for booklovers. Especially good for links to sites specializing in literary genres.

What’s Next: A Searchable Database of Novels in Series Find the right order for your favorite books in series. A “series” is two or more books linked by character(s), settings or other common traits.

Reading Group Choices Excellent website provides tips for starting book discussion groups, as well as hundreds of selections for book groups.

Agatha Awards The Agatha Awards honor the traditional mystery.

Coretta Scott King Award Named after the wife of the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., this award is given to African American authors and illustrators who the ALA deems deserving of extra merit for their work.

Edgar Award Award presented by the Mystery Writers of America.

Hugo Award Also known as the Science Fiction Achievement award.

The Man Booker Prize This prize rewards the best novel of the year written by a citizen of the British Commonwealth.

National Book Award The National Book Award honors book written by U.S. authors in four genres: Fiction, NonFiction, Poetry and Young People’s Literature.

National Book Critics Circle The award honors the finest books published in English for fiction, general nonfiction, biography, poetry and criticism.

Nebula Awards This award honors authors of science fiction and fantasy.

Nobel Prize in Literature The literature prize is awarded to the person who “shall have produced in the field of literature the most outstanding work.”

PEN/Faulkner Winners are chosen by their peers in the writing field, independent of the publishing industry.

Pulitzer Prize Awarded to an author whose work best depicts American life.

RITA Awards Given annually by the Romance Writer’s of America to the best authors in romance fiction.

Spur Awards The Spur Awards are given by the Western Writers of America. Major award categories include best western novel and best novel of the west.
