We are very sorry to inform you that the Library has discontinued the subscription with the NetLibrary/Recorded Books due to its low usage.
However, we have expanded our OverDrive digital media service by purchasing the OverDrive Advantage program - a subscription that will allow us to purchase more copies of popular titles and add new titles specifically for Concord residents.

In order to use the eAudiobooks, you must register and create a free account with NetLibrary.
People who live, work or attend schools in Concord are eligible to register.
How to Register and Create an Account
Concord residents who have a valid Concord Library card may register and create an account by
• Calling 978-318-3301 (Circ Desk)

978-318-3350 (Fowler)
• Visiting this link or
• Going to the Main or Fowler Library
Non-Concord residents who work or attend schools in town must come to the Main or Fowler Library to register. Please bring proof of your employment in Concord or student ID.
How to Get Started on Your PCs
Downloading an audiobook:
Once you are registered and an account has been created, you may proceed with downloading:
• Go to the home page of Recorded Books/ NetLibrary at www.netlibrary.com
• Enter your username and password
• Click on the Log In button
- Choose an Audiobook
• Use basic or advanced search to
find title to download
• Use Show Details and Listen to
Preview to listen more about an
eAudiobook
• Check out up to 10 books at one
time
Download an eAudiobook to your PC
• Click on Download this Audiobook
• Select Checkout and Download CD Quality
• Once transfer begins, choose Save
and save it to your computer hard drive or desktop…
Acquire the License (a vital step)
• Open the file (in WMP format) you just
downloaded
• Double click on the highlighted title to
acquire the license
• Enter your NetLibrary username and password
and click on Log In
• The license is then downloaded, and you are prompted to play the audiobook
To Transfer to a MP3 Player
Before starting to transfer, make sure...
• You have downloaded the CD Quality file to your computer
• You have already opened the eAudiobook
in Windows Media Player 9 or 10 and acquired the license prior to beginning the transfer
• Your device is Windows Media Player/
Digital Rights Management (WMP/DRM) compatible
Transferring an audiobook:
• Attach your portable player to your computer
• Locate and open the file from Windows Media Player, right click on the eAudiobook and select Add to Sync List
• Click on Start Sync
• Once transfer is complete, disconnect
your MP3 player from USB port (
right click on the green arrow at the lower right hand corner of your computer screen to safely remove your portable device from the computer)
To Renew an Audiobook
• Go to www.netlibrary.com
• Log in to your account
• Click on My Checked Out Items in top right corner
• Select the title you wish to renew by clicking on Download Audiobook
• Select Renew Your Checkout for 21 Days
To Delete an eAudiobook from your PC
• Locate the file
• Select File
• Select Delete
Please note: You need to delete eAudiobooks from your MP3 player manually or they remain there indefinitely.
Criterion for Players
Many players are designed primarily for use with music. Functions important for downloadable eAudiobooks include:
• Support of Windows Media Player/Digital
Rights Management (WMP/DRM) encrypted files.
• Adequate memory—256MB will hold one
eight-hour book, 512MB will hold two books, 1G will hold four books, etc.
• Bookmarking or “Off/On” defined as shutting
player off without stopping/pausing, then restarting player to return to same place in file.
• Full time display/Forward/Reverse are other
aids to navigability.
• Ability to play 34kbps WMA files.
